I have created short videos on 2D shapes and inserted voice narration on how to pronounce the names of shapes. This video consists of some basic shapes and inserted voice narration on how to pronounce name of shapes. The reason for creating these videos are 2D shapes is important for art and life skills. From an early age kids notice different shapes even if they don’t yet know that the shapes have names. If they recognize the shapes with name correctly, the knowledge of shapes gives the young learners an advantage in many areas of learning. 

How to use? 

These short animated videos on 2D shapes will help students to recognize 2D shapes everywhere and able to tell the name of shapes correctly. Teachers can used this teaching learning material in the classroom to teach the concepts of 2D shapes. This video is quick and very handy to use in lessons or during a transition. 

Creation of materials

These teaching learning material can created to teach the names of 2D shapes. I have created the shapes with features to build the curiosity and interest of students so that they can learn concepts easily. I have prepared this animated video as follows: 

• Prepared in PowerPoint presentation 

• Use different types of shapes to create 2D shapes with features 

• Inserted animation to each shapes 

• Saved PowerPoint presentation as window media video. 

• Drag the video in window movie maker and added background music and voice narration.

 Activity 

Instructions:

 After watching the short videos on 2D shapes, students need to identify and name the 2D shapes. Students need to see the shapes given in worksheet and write their name correctly under the space provided. For this activity teacher will provide one worksheet to each students and give 10 minutes to complete the activity.
